Small Scale Study to map the implementation of Media
Literacy and Image Education in Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK
Survey Questionnaire
This study aims to identify and analyse existing and emerging approaches
to developing and implementing media literacy and image education in Ireland,
the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Media literacy education is practised
across a range of disciplines, target groups and fields of action, and
addresses a complex field of issues across the full media spectrum. That
said, fundamental tenets of media literacy education would involve equipping
people to understand:
-
the structures, sources and technologies that generate communication
-
the codes, conventions and languages of media images and texts
-
the processes of selection, interpretation and evaluation of media messages
Increasingly, media literacy in its various forms is identified as being
crucial to fostering citizenship and participation.
If you feel that your research, resource development, activities and/or
educational practice is currently contributing to media literacy education,
we would be grateful if you could fill in the questionnaire below. Please
take as much space as you feel you need.
