MediaEd is the site for media and moving image education in the UK. On this site you'll find teaching ideas, lesson plans and project reports, examples of student work, details of where you can get support and training or find workshops or education screenings for your students. MediaEd is currently still under construction so your feedback would be really useful.
Who's MediaEd for? MediaEd is for people who are involved or interested in teaching and learning about media and moving images. It's a site for sharing resources and experience and finding out about what support is available. The emphasis of MediaEd is moving to focus more on teaching about media and moving images across the curriculum in Primary and Secondary schools, rather than on specific Media or Film Studies courses. Who isn't it for? MediaEd is about media and moving image education in schools, communities, informal and adult education. It's not about training people to work in the media industry, and it doesn't cover the academic study of films and the media in higher education. If you're looking for information about vocational film and media courses the best place to go is the BFI/Skillset database on media courses Editorial group We're planning an editorial group including representatives from different sectors and different regions and nations of the UK. This group will principally communicate by email. If you're interested in joining this group please contact us.
